Admissions deadline to attend SUNY Orange this spring semester as a degree-seeking (matriculated) student: Wednesday, January 6, 2010 In order to attend as a degree-seeking student, you must complete the following by January 6, 2010: * Submit application for admission and $30 application fee ($20 for readmitted students) o Available online at www.sunyorange.edu/admissions/apply * Submit proof of high school graduation - The following are ways a student can prove high school graduation: o Have your high school send or fax an official high school transcript with proof of graduation. The Admissions Office fax number is 845-342-8662. o Bring in your original GED for the Admissions Office to make a copy. o If you already have an Associates or Bachelors Degree, have your college send an official college transcript. o Bring in your original high school diploma. Please be aware that this will serve as temporary proof of graduation only and that an official high school transcript must still be received by February 1. o If you are unable to show proof of high school graduation prior to the admissions deadline of January 6, you must enter the College as part of our 24 credit hour program and attend an Admissions Workshop (visit the website at www.sunyorange.edu/admissions/events for workshop dates and locations). * Take College Placement Assessment - All students who plan to enroll as degree-seeking students are required to take the placement assessment. This assessment gauges college-level skills in reading, writing and mathematics and assists the College in placing students in courses at the appropriate level. There is a $25 fee which must be paid prior to taking the assessment (cash not accepted at Newburgh Campus). Transfer students may submit a waiver form (with an official or unofficial college transcript) if they have successfully completed a college-level English and/or math course prior to registering.  For information regarding assessment times and locations, visit the website at www.sunyorange.edu/counseling/assessment.shtml or contact the Advising and Counseling Office at 845-341-4070. Remaining Spring 2010 Placement Assessment Dates: Middletown Campus (Shepard Student Center) Hours December 21-23, 2009 Walk-in anytime between 9am-1pm January 4-6, 2010 Walk-in anytime between 9am-4pm Newburgh Campus (Tower Building) Hours January 5, 2010 2pm (arrive by 1:30) January 6, 2010 5:30 (arrive by 5:00) * Sign up for an Advising and Registration workshop – Once you are accepted to the College and have received the results of your placement assessment, contact the Advising and Counseling at 845-341-4070 to sign up for a workshop. The last workshop will be held on January 14th. (Over) Please be aware that the College will be closed from December 24 through January 3. The admissions application will be available to submit online during this time. The target date for financial aid processing was December 1st. If you have not sent in all requested information to the Financial Aid Office by that date, you will have to make arrangements for payment until your financial aid is processed. Students who do not complete the above process by January 6 will still be allowed to enter the college. However, you may only enter as a part-time, non-degree seeking student (ineligible for financial aid). Spring 2010 classes begin on Tuesday, January 19th. 12/09 SUNY Orange Office of Admission
